New Focus on Social Action Ministry

"…Church social action is not a small band of marginal activists in the church;
rather, it is a congregational process of coming to terms with the mission of our
religious community in a society that sometimes confuses the separation of church
and state with the divorce of religion and public policy …"

-- Rev. Richard S. Gilbert, The Prophetic Imperative

In recognition and honor of our history of action in the name of Social justice, we re-afirm and re-commit to transform ourselves and our larger community.

Pam Kelly and Carl McCargo, two trained facilitators from the UUA, brought us together to envision how our Social Action Program can add vitality and purpose to our church mission.

From that event came our focus on the six areas, plus a coordinating council to facilitate communication and action. See for more including the latest reports....
